The most fascinating thing about every cathedral in Italy has to be the inner view of their domes. These domes are as captivating as the story behind their architecture, decorations and paintings. I think we visited every structure that looks like church just to take a look at its marvelous dome. Following are some of the grandest and well known domes in Italy.
1) Dome of a church named Nostra Signora del Sacro Cuore in Piazza Navona, Rome - This is the one I liked most.
2) The Duomo, Florence. The exterior of this cathedral is astonishing as well.

3) The most famous and holiest domes of all: St. Peters in Vatican.
4) The St. peters cathedral also has some smaller domes.
5) The hallway that makes up the Musei de Vaticani has some great art work on it too.

6) The dome of the Church of Gesù Nuovo in Naples.
7) The ceiling of the outer hallway of Basilica di San Marco in Venice. Due to the long queue we decided to skip this church.
8) The Arc at the entrance of Duomo di Siena.

9) The ceiling of the ancient cathedral burried right under Duomo di Siena
